We are a non profit leadership organization of Benin patriots with a simple desire - to work with individuals and leaders in the eradication of poverty in our communities. We want to see the circle of poverty broken so that people can lead vibrant, healthy, respectable and fulfilling lives. The Edo Leadership Assembly (ELA) is headquartered in the USA, with a membership base spanning three continents: North America (USA, Canada), Europe (UK) and Africa (Nigeria). The organization was founded in 2008 by a group of Benin men and women residing in the USA, who yearned for the social, economic, cultural, political and educational renaissance of contemporary subjects of the Great Benin Kingdom.
Our organizational goals are anchored in the vision and leadership ethos that heralded the prominence of the Benin Empire since its inception in 1180 AD.
We are a leader in the fight against poverty and disenfranchisement. Through our project implementation subsidiary, The Benin Foundation Inc., ELA is making a difference in the community.
We also collaborate with various organizations around the world, to advance sustainable economic development in poor communities.
We foresee an Edo State and a Nigeria where all people are enfranchised and live in progressive, vibrant communities.
We see a Benin renaissance movement led by a diverse and democratic leadership that is at the forefront of decision making in Edo State and Nigeria, working to benefit the long term interests of our People.
We envision ELA working collaboratively with government, private sector, funders and civil society groups to achieve excellence in the projects we undertake and to promote economic development, cultural-orientation and educational progress among our People.
